Oral Hygiene

Medications, malocclusion, multiple disabilities, and poor oral hygiene combine to increase the risk of periodontal disease commonly found in people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In 1968 the Utah State Training School added a full-time dentist to their medical staff.
